Shawangunk Catskill Area Grotto

The Shawangunk Catskill area Grotto serves cavers in the Mid-Hudson Valley area of New York. Our meetings are normally held at 7:30 PM on the second Monday of the month on the SUNY New Paltz campus. Membership is available to anyone interested in caves or caving for the amazingly low price of $6 per year. For more information check the links below.


The bat in the picture above is a Little Brown Bat, myotis lucifugus. The picture was taken in the New Discovery section of Surprise Cave in Sullivan County, New York.  The bat in the background image is a Pallas' Long-tongued Bat, Glossophaga soricina.
